What's New?

The port of Felixstowe has issued a new booking instruction which will be in place from Monday 15th July.

The new set of instructions will contribute to a huge influence on not just NKR Freight but whole Haulage community. Currently, Vehicle booking system (VBS) allows us to amend the booking at any point just before the driver arriving on the terminal. Also, we are allowed to swap jobs around and put different containers on to different VBS to accommodate if the drivers are delayed to job. This will not be a perk with the new Container Booking system (CBS) as this will incur a penalty of £35.69 if amending within 12hrs of the booking time.

The operations for all the hauliers will be affected massively causing inflexibility due to this new CBS.

Impact on Bookings

Bookings for Monday: All bookings for Monday collections must be finalized by the new cut-off time today (Thursday). Any bookings not finalized by this time may be subject to cancellation or risk incurring additional charges.

Late Bookings: Bookings made within 12 hours of collection (if containers are available) will incur a £35.69 fee from the port to cover associated costs.

Changes After Cut-Off: Any changes made to bookings after the cut-off point will also incur a fee, as modifications to the Container Booking System (CBS) will be required. Additionally, swapping container numbers or adjusting booking times will no longer be possible without incurring fees.

NKR recommends finalizing all bookings for Day 3 collections as soon as possible to avoid any potential delays or additional charges.

The good thing is Port of Felixstowe is giving 3 months of grace period from receiving any charges until we fully get a grip of the system. This will be recorded in the system to make sure of the financial restraints we are incurring so to avoid it in the future by adding additional fees to our bookings.
